Behind the Scenes with Ashley and Kayla!

Kayla and I waiting for Hunter and Alex to pick us up.

Today was Kayla and I's first day hanging out with the boys, being freaked out helping the Demonsitters film!

We couldn't find Hunter's apartment because he gave us the wrong address.. The GPS routed us to North Carolina, which was approximately 17 hours away. We decided to call Jimmy Froio and he made Hunter meet us at a Kwik Fill gas station to lead us to his apartment.

Jimmy, Kenny and Hunter watching footage they had previously filmed.
We started off night by reviewing footage and awkwardly standing there filming behind the scenes shots. The boys set up the lights, cameras and special effects as I sat there sticking the camera up people's butts watched. We made some new friends!!

Alex aka Boom B!tch

Amelia "Jen"

Hunter "Andy"

Kayla and I created a beautiful monster! We used tape to put over her eye, liquid latex to make it look like skin, silly putty, play dough soft squishy stuff to make the skin around her eye bulky and fake blood to ...well make it look awesome.

April 7th Shoot

Today's shoot went from noon to about 6:30. We were able to successfully film the scenes we had planned to get done. We didn't run into any major problems and everyone was cooperative and focused. Right now we are about more than half way done with the film. Next week we will be filming all of Mr. Domen's scenes. At this rate we should have the film 99% complete after the 21st and ready to present to the panel.

What A Day

Today shooting began at 11am and ended around 7:30pm. It was a long day but when we were finished we were happy with what we accomplished. We started the day aiming to have 5 scenes completed and we ended the day having done that. We ran into some "blood" disasters when the blood pumping device didn't function correctly. A big splatter of fake blood ended up all over the wall and we quickly had to clean it up before it stained. Then we moved on to take 2. Eventually we got the blood scenes to be exactly how we imagined them. All the actors and crew members did a great job. everyone stayed focused and we finished the day pleased with what we accomplished. Behind the scenes footage will be posted this week along with some sneak peak images from the film. DEMONSITTERS!!!

Link to The Demonsitters Behind the Scenes

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKY3gBhW5PI&feature=youtu.be

Day 1 Shoot

Today we began principal photography for the film and we are very pleased with how everything turned out. The actors did great. Kenny and Hunter really brought their characters to life. The original plan was to film from 12 to 5pm today but unfortunately we had to call it a wrap around 2pm due to schedule conflicts. With less than 3 hours to film we achieved a lot and we did it without rushing. We took our time to set up the shots and work with the actors and allow them to get into their role. The first day was a lot of fun and everything is going great. During and after the shoot we filmed behind the scenes footage with some interviews. Behind the Scenes will be posted after it is edited. Throughout the week we will edit the footage we shot today and present it to the class. Today was a very successful day and we are moving in a positive direction.

Role of Andy

Today we filmed some audition shots of Jimmy acting out some of Andy's dialogue and then we filmed Hunter acting out the same dialogue. After coaching Jimmy I feel he progressed somewhat but still needs work if he is going to play Andy. I think Hunter did a good job. He didn't sound like he was trying to act, he made it sound believable. I will post the video. Please leave your HONEST opinions.

Finger Test Shot

Today a test shot of a finger being bit off was filmed. We filmed the scene using camera tricks. Similar techniques will be used for The Demonsitters finger biting scene. To shoot blood out of the finger we used a home made blood pump.

A Facebook page for The Demonsitters has been created to help promote the film.

Another Test Shot

Today we filmed a test shot of a demonic head spin. Although a head spin scene is not included in The Demonsitters script, we still wanted to test it out to see what we could do. We were inspired to do this after watching The Exorcism. There's a scene in that movie when the girl's head begins to spin around. After seeing that we thought "That's awesome. Why don't we do something like that in The Demonsitters?" So we thought of a way to do it and we filmed a test shot. You can view the test shot here on the blog and on https://www.facebook.com/flccnewmedia?fref=ts Let us know what you think!

Knife Throw

Today we filmed a test shot of a knife throw and stab. After editing we were pleased with how it looked and want to use the same camera tricks for the film to make the knife throw and stab look realistic enough. We also did some interviews that will be posted on the blog and the promotional website after they are edited.

Location, test shots, and final script

The shooting location for the film has been inspected and it is a perfect place to shoot the movie. It is just the right size and it is very spacious. This weekend we did some punch tests on camera to see how good they looked. We also tested the fireball coughing. We were pleased with the results. After looking through the notes from the class and their feedback on the first draft of the script, it has been revised and we believe we have completed the final script.

On 02/17/13 the early stages of the promotional webpage was put up. The website still needs a lot of work but it is a good start. We also began writing the first draft of the script. Overall writing went well. I feel we did a good job putting what we had in our heads onto the paper. Dialogue will need some touching up but overall we are moving along in a positive direction. The first draft of the script will be completed by Friday. Once we get some feedback we can begin working on the final/revised version of the script. An early decision has been made on who will play the two leads. Kenny will be playing Joel and Jimmy will be playing Andy. This is not definite as of yet. The two will need to read some lines together to show they can act before the final decision is made. The part for the 11 year old demon boy has been confirmed. Once shooting begins we will have to film on the weekends because of school. We will shoot from morning until night on Saturdays and Sundays until shooting is complete. (Should take 2-3 weeks). Editing will be on the weekdays. This Friday we also have planned to take some time to participate in interviews to be put on the promotional website.

Demonsitters

Today we reviewed the scene layout with the class and everyone shared their opinions. Need to work on toning the film down a little. Mostly everyone felt more examples of humor were needed. Today we will be working on the script in class, making some adjustments.
